This is what I have for my sculpture after one week of working. My plan is to create a 3 dimensional bird, eventually made to hang on the wall, made out of wire. After The wire structure is complete, I plan to "hang" tissue paper and other collage materials off of the wire. Throughout, my play pages mainly feature birds and other flying creatures. They also are pretty much all collages. So far, I have planned, made a maquette, and made the first layer of the bird. I am pretty happy with what I have so far, however, its current state (as seen in the picture) isn't exactly and accurate representation. This next week I am going to pin down the layer I have, since, because it's made out of wire, it is not layer flat. Once it is put into place, the shape will look a little different, and more accurate to an actual bird. I am happy with my starting point so far.

I'm excited about this! I do think the beginning layers will be tricky but once the sculpture takes form, I think you will have fun with the details. I do love how you are bringing the 2D technique of collage into a 3D sculpture.
