I have decided to make another book for my quarter 2 project, but with a bit of a different approach. This time, I will focus more on the construction of the actual book, and fill the pages with something other than collages. I plan on continuing to play with the relationship between order and chaos, or simplicity and complexity. In order to do this, I want to make a book where when you first look through the pages there are blank, but then when you unfold each page they are filled with something a bit more complex (right now I am planning on covering them with colorful dots.
So far, I have cut out and folded the pages of my book. Since I want each page to have a flap that folds out, this was slightly tricky but I think I figured it out. I cut six different sections, and folded five of them so they would each have four panels. One of the sections only has three panels because it will be the first page, and the cover of the book will be attached to it. I know this all seems confusing right now, and yes it is very hard to explain through writing, Hopefully once I begin to actually bind the pages together it will all make a bit more sense. The first picture shows the six sections, while the second shows how the sections are folded. The section on the left is one of the inside pages and there are four more sections identical to that. The section on the right is the first page,
