This piece includes a quote said by Buddha: "When you like a flower, you just pluck it. But when you love a flower, you water it." I thought this quote fit with my content as it could represent the need to take care of the planet. I know there are other meanings to this quote as well, as it is truly a metaphor, which I appreciate and think are important as well.
This piece was made with solar powered photography, or sonography, and colored pencil. The two pieces are an extreme representation of the changes we are seeing on the planet, as they depict both normal and vanishing plants. |

This piece is a collage made out of construction paper, magazines, and flower cutouts. I focused on both nature and collage, a subject and process carried throughout many of my play pages. It also includes lots of color and layering, which also frequently appeared throughout my sketchbook.
This is a ring made of elastic, pipe cleaners, tissue paper, and a little bit of magazine cutouts. I decided to try to make some form of jewelry just cause I thought it would be really fun and a completely different spin on collages. I layered different images and tissue papers creating the face of the ring. |
